In her contribution, the Honourable Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Dr. (Mrs.) Lola Akande said the International Day of Cooperatives (IDC) is an occasion to educate the public on issues of concern, mobilise political will and resources to address global problems, and celebrate the achievements of humanity.
Pointing out that the annual celebration strengthens and extends partnerships between the International Cooperative Movement and other outfits of social development, Mrs. Akande explained that the Luncheon/Merit Award was convened to recognise cooperators and cooperatives who have served their respective societies and communities diligently and conscientiously.
