The Lagos State Government has recruited 3,000 health workers in the state, as part of efforts to boost health care service delivery and meet the health needs of citizens.
This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Health, Prof Akin Abayomi, in a statement.
According to the commissioner, those recruited by the state included doctors, nurses, pharmacists, lab scientists, and other allied professionals.
He called for the re-election of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu who heads to the polls on March 11 to seek a second term in office.
According to the Lagos State Ministry of Health, the Sanwo-Olu administration also completed the construction of five LASAMBUS operational bases at General Hospital Lagos, General Hospital Ikorodu, Lagos University Hospital, General Hospital Badagry and the Eti-Osa Maternal and Child Centre.
“Continuous training and capacity building for LASAMBUS staff and first responders have also been given the priority it deserves. Evidently, emergency response time has greatly reduced,” the ministry added.
