Interest in the 8th Lagos Public Relations Industry Gala and Awards (LAPRIGA) 2023 continues to soar, with the selection committee receiving 109 entries from various stakeholders in the Lagos PR industry as of the closing date on 30th November 2023.
The committee’s next course of action involves meticulously reviewing the entries to ensure they align with the predefined criteria for each category.
Following this, all members of the Lagos Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) will have the opportunity to cast their votes for the shortlisted entries in each category.
Speaking about the committee’s adjudication process, Mr. Chido Nwakama, the Selection Committee Chairman, emphasized their commitment to a thorough assessment.
He assured that the committee would apply the criteria for each category scrupulously to arrive at decisions.
Mr. Nwakama expressed satisfaction with the responses from the PR community in Lagos State, emphasizing LAPRIGA’s role as a platform to recognize excellence in the PR profession.
The award jury will be responsible for shortlisting entries in various categories, including Best in Technology Public Relations, Best in Public Relations Education, Best in Hospitality PR, Best in Political Communication, Best in Entertainment PR, Best Use of Research & Measurement, Public Relations Practitioner of the Year, Corporate Communication Professional of the Year, Most Influential PR Professional, and Outstanding Public Affairs Practitioner of the Year.
Other categories include Best Brand in Storytelling, Best Innovation in Public Relations, Digital and Social Media Agency of the Year, Rising Public Relations Practitioner of the Year, Best in Crisis and Risk Communication, and Excellence in Internal Communication & Employee Engagement. Excellence will also be celebrated in the fields of Community Relations, Political Communication, Corporate Social Responsibility, and Supporter of PR, Agency of the Year, Model Agency of All Time, Public Relations Journalist of the Year, and Photo & Video Journalist of the Year.
Commencing on 4th December 2023, members of the Lagos Chapter will begin voting on the shortlisted entries, concluding on 10th December, 2023.
The official announcement of the winners is scheduled for the Gala night on Thursday, 21st December 2023, at the Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos.
