OPRLS 2025: Ondo NIPR Visits OSRC Media Group, Seeks Support for Maiden Leadership Summit

The Ondo State chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Ondo State Radiovision Corporation (OSRC) Media Group, seeking strategic partnership and support ahead of its forthcoming Leadership Summit.

 

During the visit, the NIPR delegation commended the Director-General of OSRC Media Group for his outstanding contributions to journalism and broadcasting, describing him as a resourceful and dynamic leader whose professional excellence continues to inspire.

 

According to the Chairman of the Ondo NIPR Chapter, Mr Funmilayo Ikuedurani, the visit was aimed at fostering collaboration on issues that promote sustainable development, while also exploring mutually beneficial opportunities between both organizations.

 

He emphasized the importance of shifting from rhetoric to action-driven dialogue, particularly as it relates to shaping public narratives and empowering communities through effective communication.

 

As part of its efforts to drive impactful discourse, the state Chapter Chairman disclosed that the Ondo NIPR is organizing its first-ever Leadership Summit tagged Ondo Public Relations Leadership Summit (OPRLS), themed “Empowering Communities: Leadership Communication for Sustainable Development.”

 

The two-day summit, according to him, is scheduled to hold on Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th June 2025, and will feature local and international collaboration. Notably, the chapter is working with the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management—a confederation of major PR and communication management associations worldwide—and Addefort Limited, a Lagos-based PR consultancy firm.

 

Disclosing the major highlight of the summit, he said the Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa will be decorated as the Patron of the Institute in the state. “This ceremony, scheduled for Thursday 26th June, will be conducted by the National President and Chairman of the NIPR Council, Dr. Ike Neliaku, in line with the Institute’s constitution which recognizes state governors as patrons of their respective chapters” he added.

 

The NIPR leadership called for both personal and corporate support from the OSRC Media Group to ensure the success of the programme, while also expressing willingness to seek expert advice and guidance from the media house as preparations progress.

 

The Director General and CEO of OSRC Media Group, Mr. Kenneth Odusola-Stevenson, has expressed appreciation to the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) for engaging with the organization.

 

Addressing the theme of the summit, he emphasized the importance of understanding and effectively managing people within a workplace. According to him, “managing and being able to understand the people you work with is very important.” He dismissed any negative perceptions about the organization, asserting that OSRC is not only alive but home to some of the best minds in the media industry. He described the summit’s theme as timely and relevant, particularly in today’s dynamic media environment.

 

The DG, a seasoned administrator, journalist and registered PR practitioner, reaffirmed the media group’s readiness to collaborate with NIPR and take an active role in advancing public relations practices. His assurance of full participation underscores a renewed commitment to excellence and strategic communication within the organization.
