2025 CAF Awards: Super Falcons, Nnadozie Shine in Rabat

Nigeria’s Super Falcons were crowned Women’s Team of the Year at the 2025 CAF Awards held on Wednesday in Rabat.

Brighton goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie continued her remarkable run, winning the Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award for the third consecutive time.

In a historic moment, Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi was named African Player of the Year (Men) — becoming the first defender in 52 years to claim the honour. After finishing narrowly behind Victor Osimhen in 2023 and Ademola Lookman in 2024, the 27-year-old finally secured Africa’s most prestigious individual football award. His victory also ends Morocco’s long wait for the title, making him the nation’s first winner since Mustapha Hadji in 1998.

On the women’s side, Ghizlane Chebbak earned the Women’s Player of the Year award, while Yassine Bounou took home the Men’s Goalkeeper of the Year honour.

The ceremony at the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University also celebrated emerging stars: Othmane Maamma won Men’s Young Player of the Year, and Doha El Madani received the Women’s Young Player of the Year award.

In the coaching category, Bubista of Cape Verde was named Coach of the Year, and Pyramids FC clinched their first-ever Men’s Club of the Year title.
